Verb Tense / Sentence too long

e.g.

X -- Recently, simulation technologies have significant progress and they made it possible to predict the properties of a material and also to virtually show the motion of machinery. -- X

Better -->
O -- Recently, simulation technologies have made significant progress and they have made it possible to predict the properties of a material. It is also possible to virtually show the motion of machinery. -- O

 The first sentence uses the simple past tense and is too long which confuses the reader. The second example uses the perfect tense and is in two sentences, which makes the information easier to understand.


Wrong verb / adverb / adjective ordering

e.g.

1)

X -- ... as the pendulum type TMD can be replaced by the circular track type, this enables the equipment compact enough. -- X

Better -->
O -- ... as the pendulum type TMD can be replaced by the circular track type, this ensures that the equipment is sufficiently compact. -- O

e.g.

2)

X -- The pendulum type TMD was used as the TRD to be able to adjust the natural frequency easily. -- X

Better -->
O -- The pendulum type TMD was used as the TRD to allow easy adjustment of the natural frequency. -- O

e.g.

3)

X -- Therefore, it is confirmed that the prediction of the TPD effectiveness by analytical is validity. -- X

Better -->
O -- Therefore, it is confirmed that the analytical prediction of the TPD effectiveness is valid. -- O


Incorrect Word Order

e.g.

X -- Since the natural frequency of the TPD is set to generally close to the frequency of flutter... -- X

Better -->
O -- Since the natural frequency of the TPD is generally set close to the flutter frequency... -- O


Wrong verb / use of pronoun / preposition

e.g.

X -- As the tension is decided by the looper height, it is important to control the looper height in high accuracy. -- X

Better -->
O -- As the tension is determined by the looper height, it is important to control this with a high degree of accuracy. -- O


Wrong expression / article / verb tense

e.g.

X -- In these days, the adaptive control method using the interpolation controller is proposed. -- X

Better -->
O -- A recent proposal involves an adaptive control method using an interpolation controller.-- O


Wrong use of noun form

e.g.

1)

X -- ...which stabilizes the looper even under the change of material characteristics in rolling. -- X

Better -->
O -- ...which stabilizes the looper even when material characteristics change during rolling. -- O

The second example uses the verb form of 'change'.

2)

X -- In this simulation a strip which thickness was 2.5 mm and width was 900 mm was used. -- X

Better -->
O -- In this simulation a strip 2.5 mm thick and 900 mm wide was used.-- O

The second example uses adjective forms rather than noun forms.
