Yoshimoto: Good morning, Mr. Shumacher. How are you?

Shumacher: Hello. Fine, thank you. And you?

Yoshimoto: Fine, thanks. It's a bit cold today, isn't it?

Shumacher: Yes it is! I'm glad I brought some warm clothes with me from Germany.

Yoshimoto: Would you like some tea or coffee?

Shumacher: No, thank you. I've just had breakfast.

Yoshimoto: So, when did you arrive in Japan?

Shumacher: Saturday evening.

Yoshimoto: And what do you think of it so far?

Shumacher: It's nice. Most people are very friendly.

Yoshimoto: Have you had time to do any sightseeing?

Shumacher: Only around Kobe. I really want to see Kyoto while I'm here. I'm very interested in Japanese gardens.

Yoshimoto: Ah, yes. If you're interested in our gardens, Kyoto is the best place to go. You should go and see a place called Nanzen-ji, it has some very beautiful gardens.

Shumacher: Nan-zen-ji? Could you write that down for me? In Japanese characters?

Yoshimoto: Sure, no problem. Just a second--here you are.

Shumacher: Thank you.

Yoshimoto: Well, shall we begin the meeting? It's now 10 o'clock. Mr. Masada is giving a presentation this morning on some of our products. We can discuss the kind of products your company requires after he has finished. Then, if we have time, I'd like to show you some areas of our facility before lunch.

Shumacher: That sounds interesting.
